Catch and Release is an evening of dance, textile, and music installation that invites the viewer to experience the art as they like premiered at the Hairpin Arts Center in Chicago. Similar to a visual art gallery setting, Catch and Release is configured to allow the audience to move through the space and make choices about proximity, vantage point, comfort and duration. Conceived by an investigation of family narrative, tradition and memento, the work explores themes of memory distortion, perception, and recall, translated through the mediums of movement, sound, and graphic textile design.
