Nicole Scatchell
Nicole Scatchell holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dance and a minor in Business from Columbia College – Chicago as well as her certification to teach Dance K-12 in public schools from the University of Milwaukee, WI. Nicole is the Artistic Director and lead teaching artist of Chicago Dance Institute, a non-profit that integrates dance and music with social and emotional learning in both public and private schools. Nicole also teaches for the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, National Dance Institute-New York, ArtsXchange Chicago, Afterschool Matters, and previously River North Dance Company, Chicago Ballet Center, and Zephyr Dance Company. Nicole focuses on being an advocate for arts education and sharing the training and skills she gains in her performance career with Chicago’s youth.
Nicole has performed with the International Ballet Ensemble and companies including BONEdanse, Zephyr Dance, David Dorfman, dropshift dance, MaryAnn McGovern and Dancers, and has worked with choreographers such as Peter Carpenter, Jimmy Orrante, Reggie Wilson, Jan Bartosek, Tammy Thomas, Ellen Werksman, Sean France, Jeff Hanncock, among others. She has performed for audiences in Chicago, Scotland, Italy, France, Germany, and New York as well as across the U.S.
