Moshman, based in NYC, has been working with this group of dancers since October 2021. Our current practice is grounded in researching purely from movement and place; working from abstract expression and investigating what emerges, rather than narrative forms. Our work is rooted in the use of sensory recollection to engage the body and create embedded anchors for an audience. www.jillmoshman.com.

bloom is an in progress section of a larger work that will premiere in November 2023.  It is an experiment in connecting to the moment; allowing it to evolve/occur.  It is a sensory experience for the mover, and one that we approach with a playful care for one another.  While we use the fabrics to secretly manipulate the body we are also attending to outwardly creating spontaneous moments of color, beauty, and chaos.

dropshift dance is a provocative, inquisitive and authoritative investigator of movement. Conceived through a collaborative incubation laboratory of movement, sound, and visual installation, the work engages audience with dialogue, choice and experimental practice. The company works through a plentiful process of studio investigation to create work that energizes the space and creates an alternate world for the performer and viewer.  dropshift was founded in 2009 by Chicago based artist Andrea Cerniglia as a movement project dedicated to a collaborative and investigative studio practice and pushing boundaries of the art form in performance.  dropshift’s empowered collaborative process highlights the individual and their contribution of unique creative gifts, placing high priority on the act of care within the artistic process and in performance.
